On Friday, September 30, 2022, the European Researchers' Night was held throughout Europe, the aim of which is to bring young people closer to research activities and thus also to introduce the profession of researcher to the general public.
As the University of Novo mesto attaches great importance to scientific work, it actively participated in the European Researchers' Night. In the morning, under the title "Scientific Dialogue", where research results were presented from various fields, namely economics and informatics, mental health of primary school children, therapeutic phytofarms, palliative care and hardware software.
This was followed by a round table entitled "Encouraging the consumer intention to buy food with quality labels", where the results of the targeted research project "Analysis of production and marketing of quality scheme products", funded by the Research Agency of the Republic of Slovenia and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food, were presented. Among the guests of the round table there was an interesting discussion about the control and promotion of quality schemes.
Our lecturers visited various high schools, such as the Novo mesto School Centre and the Novo mesto General High School, where they presented their profession as researchers and their career path to the students.
At another location of the university (Rozmanova 18), the event "Science under the arcades" was held, where passers-by could visit the stands to see various devices (thermal camera, 3D scanner), try the GlobalBirld application developed by our students, measure blood sugar, blood pressure and physical fitness, talk to researchers and have a warm drink.
