Erasmus days at the University of Novo mesto

Novo mesto, 10 October 2023 – The University of Novo mesto is celebrating Erasmus Days, an event dedicated to diversity, intercultural dialogue and the transformative power of education within the European Union and beyond. Through lectures, workshops, an information booth and numerous personal exchanges with Erasmus students, the University aims to demonstrate its commitment to European cooperation and mobility, as well as its contribution to a more connected and understanding world. These activities primarily involve students who have participated or are currently participating in international exchanges, showcasing the benefits of mobility by highlighting positive educational, research and intercultural experiences.

The European Union, which is organising #ErasmusDays 2023 for the seventh consecutive year from 9 to 14 October 2023, seeks to emphasise Europe's cultural richness and the many learning opportunities it offers. #ErasmusDays provide participants with a chance to discover new cultures, strengthen their linguistic and intercultural skills, enhance their employability and embrace European values such as tolerance, respect and diversity.

As part of the Erasmus Days celebrations at the University, several activities took place:

• "Open Doors for Future Erasmus Students" – a lecture presenting the programme and mobility opportunities;
• "Erasmus: More Than an Exchange, a Life Experience" – an intercultural workshop with discussions led by Erasmus students;
• "Discover the World through Erasmus Mobility" – an information booth offering individual guidance on exchange opportunities and direct conversations with Erasmus students.

Erasmus is more than just a study exchange. It is an opportunity for growth, learning and connection. The University of Novo mesto is proud to be part of this remarkable community and remains committed to strengthening its partnerships across Europe.

As one Erasmus student said:
"My Erasmus exchange opened my eyes and broadened my horizons in ways I could not have imagined. I gained not only new knowledge in my field but also met incredible people from around the world, forming friendships that will last a lifetime. This experience was invaluable. It taught me adaptability, independence and respect for other cultures. Every student should experience this opportunity!"
